We want our approach to Salaried GP roles to provide flexibility for GPs. We appreciate that Primary Care is a changing environment, and want our offer to align with your development, interests and out-of-work commitments. We can offer any number of sessions, working in a stable, supportive team environment across multiple sites in Brighton, while allowing for the flexibility to support a portfolio career. We will do our very best to accommodate what works best for you. Our offers include:
Traditional Salaried GP role: Participating in all aspects of clinical delivery within several GP Practices, we have sessions available throughout the week to suit your personal timetable.
Clinical leadership: Combining your role as a GP with developing your clinical leadership skills, by supporting local initiatives, (such are developing “back office” teams, shared across Practices) and national programmes of work.
Retainer: If you are returning to work after a break, or simply need to work in a supported way, you can work up to 4 sessions per week with us as a retainer. The national retainer scheme has some great benefits, including additional support from a GP trainer or mentor. Eligible GPs can also receive an annual supplement that can be used to support professional and indemnity expenses.
Newly Qualified: Creating a timetable with time for learning and reflection, as well as regular scheduled time with a named GP mentor, for people who have just completed their VTS and want some additional support in their first 1-2 years, post-qualification. The structure of this can be tailored to fit your needs, so please contact us to arrange an informal visit.
Co-designing a bespoke service to care for elderly/frail people: We are looking for someone interested in this area to hold a small list of patients with identified specific needs, to co-design and run a new, bespoke service for our frail/elderly/housebound patients with us.
School hours: We can offer you "school hours" sessions (e.g. 9:30am - 2pm) allowing you to work flexibly around "the school run”.
Flexible timetable: We may be able to accommodate a more bespoke timetable if needed, such as only working during term time, or keeping whole days free with regular sessions in the evenings or at weekends (in our Extended Hours Service).

GP Net Earnings
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients. The average pay for GPs working at Benfield Valley Healthcare Hub in the last financial year was £29,634, before tax and National Insurance. This was for 4 part-time GPs and 1 part-time locum GP (who worked for the Practice for more than six months).
